Gold membership: What's in it for you
The Chinese Red Dog (CRD) breed has a rich history, making its first appearance in the late 19th century, but it was only in 2017 when it was first introduced in the UK.
Because it is a fairly new and young breed, there is a lack of information on it and there is no ability to concretely trace its history as well as its future.
As of writing – pre-launch date of the Chinese Red Dog Registry, there are no existing data-driven efforts to track a CRD’s blood relations, identifying possible genetic diseases, and there has been no scientific approach to pinning the exact standard of the breed.
On top of this, no insurance company insures the CRD as it is. There are a few, though, that can insure them as a Rottweiler Cross.
Arguably, these problems can be addressed if only there was enough data and information on the breed.
With your help and the rest of the CRD community of breeders, owners, trainers, and enthusiasts, the Chinese Red Dog Registry aims to gather all the foundational data that, over time, will help us track the progression of the breed.
The Chinese Red Dog Registry offers the Gold package to breeders and trainers who would like to trace this progression with us. The most premium of all our memberships, the Gold membership entitles you to:
•Registration Certificate. This certificate is a hard proof of your dog’s credibility and details its lineage.
•DNA Profiling via blood sample that is necessary to trace the dog’s relations. We shall provide you with a blood vial that you will need to submit to our veterinary laboratory partner. (READ: Chinese Red Dog Registry partners with LABOKLIN UK). Please note that this is a necessary step to complete your registration so we can log your dog’s DNA Profile. Without this, we will not be able to begin the processing of your registration certificate. The DNA Profiling can take up to 4 weeks to complete once the vial has been submitted to LABOKLIN. The result will be sent out to you and the Chinese Red Dog Registry.
•Database. A lifetime access to our database of all dogs that have been registered and will register. The list will show attributes of the dog by our required images to make it possible to identify if it meets the qualifying traits. It also contains details of the dog’s birth, blood relations, height, weight, blood relations, health status, and the name of the owner. Once we’ve collected enough data over time, we will be able to set a pedigree standard for the Chinese Red Dog and label all of the registered dogs on our database accordingly. What’s more is that we include an easily digestible family tree display of the relations of all the dogs in our database.
•Member Chat. We also threw in a messaging feature in our site to give you the ability to reach out to other members. The goal is to make it easier for you to connect with fellow breeders or like-minded individuals who are passionate about preserving the lineage of the Chinese Red Dog and monitoring its progression.
•Extensive Health Testing. With no additional steps required from you, we will conduct an extensive health test for your dog using the blood sample you will provide for your mandatory DNA Profile. The test will include:
- Degenerative Myelopathy / Degenerative Radiculomyelopathy) DM (Exon 2)
- Leukoencephalomyelopathy ( LEMP )
- Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis & Polyneuropathy (JLPP)
- Coat (hair) Length I
- X-linked Myotubular Myopathy (XLMTM)
- Neuroaxonal Dystrophy ( NAD )
- Dwarfism (Pituitary Dwarfism / Hypopituitarism)
- Hyperuricosuria / Urate Stones (HUU, SLC)
- MDR1 Gene Varian / Ivermectin Sensitivity *
- Great Dane’s CNM
- Great Dane’s Ichtyosis
As part of our commitment to transparency, the results will be delivered to you and the CRDR will update your database entry with them.
For 849 GBP, you not only get all this, you also take part in the cause of helping progress, protect, and preserve the Chinese Red Dog breed.
